Lhunatica is a Venezuelan illustrator based in Montpellier, France. She arrived as a political refugee, in the pursuit of safety, meaningful connections, and life-changing experiences. All of this compelled her to leave her family behind and create a home in foreign lands, which has in turn, helped her reinvent herself on her new path towards artistic expression. Her series “The paths of life” is a collection of artworks that talk about the choices that are presented to us in life. The labyrinth represents all those possibilities that are offered to us in order to continue. In life you can either get lost in the labyrinth or find yourself, explains the artist. Each labyrinth is sculpted by time and perception, each labyrinth a path to the present. “And all of them together are the paths of life”, she concludes. Recently, she decided to quit her current job as a cashier at a supermarket to fully commit to her art and her art related projects. “I’ve been working this job for the past 4 years at the same time that I studied art, and feel that today is the day that I must leave the comfort of this place. Many projects have been presented to me as well as new opportunities to grow but what pushed me to take this unexpected decision was that for the first time since I started to create things, someone saw the value of my work and gave me the confidence and the final push I needed to fully pursue my dream.” she explains.
