Winners of the Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards 2017

Patience, talent, and luck is a much needed when you’re trying to capture wildlife at its best or most mischievous. The Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards praise exactly those virtues in photographers and showcase their work and talent through this contest. Over 3500 entries from 86 countries, chosen from five categories: On the land, under the sea, in the air, the portfolio category, and one overall winner. With prizes like Think Tank camera bag, a handmade trophy from the people of Tanzania’s Wonder Workshop, and a certificate. The contest’s co-founder and co-judge, Paul Joynson-Hicks, shared his experience and found it incredibly difficult to choose the winners from so many entries. “The images are shortlisted by how funny they are and the technical quality of their photograph,” he explained. The competition also aims to raise awareness for wildlife conservation efforts, like Born Free Foundation with goals to save lives, stop suffering and protect species in the wild. By buying the Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards’ new book you are also doing a great thing as 10% of the book’s sales goes to helping their cause.
